Ian Cullingworth IMarEng MRINA MIMarEst MIIMS Yacht & Marine Surveyor
Qualified in Yacht Design at Southampton, England in 1973 and in Marine Survey with Lloyd's Maritime Academy, London in 2006. He is an MCA accredited certifying authority marine surveyor, registered with the Chartered Engineers Institute as an Incorporated Marine Engineer, is a Member of the International Institute of Marine Surveyors, The Institute of Marine Engineering Science & Technology and The Royal Institute of Naval Architects.
After 30 years working in marine industries on sail, motor, hovercraft, safety equipment and underwater towed designs, he purchased and refitted his own sailing yacht for a west to east Atlantic crossing in 2000 and arrived in Palma in 2001. Here a base was established providing firstly, practical servicing and repair and then from 2006, professional survey services. His design of a wide variety of vessels, involvement in GRP, steel & aluminium construction, equipment servicing and repair, provide both the technical and practical foundation upon which his survey investigations are based. He regularly attends seminars and workshops on technical and legislative developments.
